My former boss said many people in Oklahoma had Texas plates because the annual registration was cheaper. Don't know the validity of that, but I am assuming that if Texas still has their annual inspection that it would just make it more a pain to deal with and wouldn't be worth any savings (at least for me). When I drive down to Dallas, etc. I don't want to waste time getting the car inspected.

When my brother was in the Air Force in Midwest City, near Oklahoma City, he keep his address as our mom's home in Texas and had Texas License Plates. He was home several times a year so registration wasn't a real problem for him.

Know it's not good to quote oneself, but I think it was registration and insurance.

There was a rumor that Oklahoma is bringing back vehicle inspections in 2010 because there are way too many dangerous cars on the roads. All I know that Oklahoma's do not know how to drive properly so I think they need to bring it back.
