The water is extremely unhealthy, because it comes from area lakes, and it is suspected that fish, frogs, snakes, and other creatures pee and poop in said lakes. Not only that, but the fish swim around in the pee and poop infested water, and then repee it and repoop it. Then you drink it. Think about it.

I would suggest carrying a water bottle around with you wherever you go, not just because it is fish poop free, but because it is the trendy thing to do nowadays.

Bottled water is the new starbucks.

Now I'm going to ask you a serious question: what prompted your ridiculous inquiry? And if you are truly that concerned with water being unsafe, why did you come to a chat forum for an answer?

The water in the entire Dallas area tastes terrible. It tastes like you dipped a cup in a muddy farm pond and took a drink. I drink nothing but filtered water or bottled water. The tap water tastes so bad I can't stand even stand to brush mt teeth with it.

How do you like talking a shower and smelling worse than when you started because the tap water smells so bad!

The only wonderful-tasting water we've ever had came from our well when my wife and I had a house at 9K feet of elevation in the Colorado Rockies. It was downright amazing...cold year-round, too.
That is where I just moved from. Best water I have ever tasted.

I had tap over a friend's near Ft Worth and it tasted just fine! Now I am one of those addicted to Dasani water and help contribute to destroying the earth! Sorry : (

But I would NEVER drink the tap in CA since soon as you turned it on it was brownish or orange/rust colored.

Don't drink tap water, ever. They put all sorts of chemicals in there to clean the water. They even put fluoride in it even though fluoride is considered a poison (that is why they say don't shallow your tooth paste). Just drink regular bottle drinking water which can be cleaned for human consumption. You don't want to risk your health. It is the MOST important thing.

And you know exactly where your bottled water comes from?

"It can be cleaned for human consumption".

First you tell us not to drink tap water, because "they put all sorts of chemicals in there to clean the water", then you tell us to drink bottled water because " it can be cleaned for human consumption". Perhaps you can tell us all how it's "cleaned"? Do you even have a clue what you're talking about, or are you just one of those people who are taken in by the commercials and think it looks cool to walk around toting a water bottle?

The water is fine, and it helps prevent toothe decay. I used to like the taste, but this house I bought in '04 had one of those water filtration systems (no chemicals are used to clean the water) under the kitchen sink, and I have since gotten used to the taste of filtered water, or the lack of taste. So much so that tap water is not as good as I remember. My dentist noticed the change, too. ;-) As for bottled water, I am not convinced of their QA/QC protocols anyway. My firm, an environmental consulting firm, used a major brand of bottled water, specifically their distilled water to decon testing equipment. It is supposed to be as pure as we can get, bought in the 5-gallon jugs, One jug they delivered contained a 3-ft sprig of St. Augustine grass. Not a lot of assurance in their quality control when they put clean water in dirty bottles.

Ya, and as soon as I find the city that has a healthy dose of valium in their water, I'm moving there. Even if it means going to.......Lakewood.
