Grand Prairie/Arlington (Irving, Post: apartments, how much, neighborhoods)

Hey Everybody, I've really enjoyed reading the forum and its given me quite alot of information. I am in Irving right now, visiting what will be my new job starting on April 1st. I'll be working in Grand Prairie, right off 360 and Post and Paddock. I just have a couple of questions.. some co-workers have said that the Red River Ranch apartments right on the west side of 360 are a pretty nice place to live. Can anyone help me out with their opinions of the neighborhood? (I'm just a single 26 year old, no kids) I have to make a decision on an apartment here in 48 hours They have also said to remain north of Green Oaks drive in Arlington as the neighborhoods are a bit safer. Any opinions here would be greatly appreciated.

One other question.. I like to live on the top floor of apartments to cut out some of the noise.. does anyone have any experience with this making their utility bills much higher during the summer months? I'm a little worried about how much AC its going to take to cool the place down
