Volunteer work in Dallas?
I'm looking for ways to volunteer in the community, help out with underprivledged communities.
Any ideas where I can look?

You might try North Dallas Shared Ministries. They are located by 635 and 35. They help people with food, rent, clothing , job assistance and they also have a medical clinic. It is a wonderful organization. I really enjoy volunteering for this wonderful organization.

I volunteered at Parkland and it was very interesting. I enjoyed it a lot. There's a waiting list, though, at least there was back when I did it (15 years ago or so).

Try this:
North Texas Food Bank - Get Involved in Volunteer Opportunities
I used to do their Operation Frontline program. I found it very interesting that so many low-income people did know how to cook, were not aware of basic nutrition and really over spent on unhealthy food. |

Contact the Center For Non-Profit Management. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Also, I commend you on your desire to help in the community.

The North Texas Volunteer Center offers 100s of opportunities and can point in the right direction for which organzations you find interesting. |

With election day (Tuesday, November 4th) three days out have you thought about volunteering for one of the national, state or local campaigns?
