rockwall or waxahachie
Which would you rather live in with a family and why?????? I need help deciding, we will be out there in a few weeks but only for 2 days and just looking around will not give us a true feel for either city. So if money did not matter and everything was just based upon the quality of living, sense of community, and a great place to raise kids which would you chose?????

I would choose Rockwall because they have more to offer and they are closer to Dallas. With a Rockwall address you enjoy all the amenities of Dallas without much driving. Waxahachie is a nice historic city but everything you do is pretty confined to Waxahachie.

I agree with previous comment... Rockwall has more, has the lake, has great schools, nice neighborhoods, good people, conservative... great YMCA and Lakepoint church programs, downsize is construction to help congestion and ever increasing traffice to and from Dallas... backs up without fail every day going east across the lake.... and don't move north of town, traffic nightmare.
Heath is great option.

I too agree with Grainraiser. We love it out here. I have never met anyone who lives here who doesn't like it. It is also very self sustained with all type of shopping, dining, medical and worship facilities.
Because of its proximity to Dallas it is trendier than Waxahachie. The schools are excellent and you just cannot beat living by this awesome lake!
If you are looking for a slower paced area, Waxahachie may be right for you.

is waxachachie really that boring. I'm thinking long term, will waxahachie be one of those towns where the local teens run a muck because there in nothing to do? Waxahachie looks so cute, but rockwall seems like it has alot more to offer.

I would go with Rockwall over Waxahachie any day as Rockwall has a lot more going for it. There is a ton of growth in Rockwall and the surrounding area, so there is a lot of stores and restaurants. There is a lot of nice housing developments with nice homes and it is very family-oriented. It is close to Downtown Dallas via I-30. Also, Lake Ray Hubbard, a very nice lake, is right there in Rockwall as well. Hope this helps!

I will say this about the two choices given. If I wanted a quit place to live after retirement I would choose Waxahachie. I was a working person raising a family I would choose Rockwall as the place to live.
