There is good deals there if you catch the stuff on sale - the key is to wait for the "blowout" sales when they have huge floor displays - that's when I got a couple of recliners from them.

Go to Midway and Simonton. There is a furniture warehouse there and the prices are negotiable. They have some nice stuff. I bought a couple couches from there a month or two ago.

My friends swear by Weir's. Wiers? I dunno how it's spelled, but they have nice looking, solid furniture.

Weir's Furniture - Beautiful home on a budget
I have known the president of the company since kindergarten and we went all through school and church together...I even know his grandfather (the founder) who is in his 90s.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Weir's.
Believe it or not we stumbled upon some GREAT furniture for the upstairs game room at Big Lots. I was next door at Hobby Lobby and just thought I'd stroll thru there for the heck of it and see exactly what this store had. We bought a nice dark brown "leather" sofa and loveseat as well as a "bar table" or high/tall dining table (whatever they call it) and 4 barstools. Friends that find out where I got it are in utter disbelief.

Weir's is very good. If you want to save money check out Consignment Heaven off of Henderson just east of I-75 (Central Exp). Of course being a consignment shop it is hit or miss. My experience has been more hit than miss. Check it out.

I'll second this if you are looking for Contemporary, which I don't think you'll find too much of at Weir's and some of the other mainstream furniture stores. If you check out the back streets in the square defined by 635, Spring Valley, Midway, and Inwood, you will find many small shops that specialize in Contemporary.

We just moved to Frisco and we have outfitted our apartment from DFW Furniture Direct out of Plano. Go here - www.dfwfurnituredirect.com. Great prices and great quality! We love what we bought from there. We had it all delivered before we arrived. Very good to work with.
