I agree with you Bill. But I am assuming we have to be Politically correct on here. South Dallas probably does have the most Section 8 housing from what I have seen down there. I personally don't agree with section 8.

Then I guess you have missed the news in the last 2 years and also don't realize that Collin County ALSO has Section 8 Housing.
Plano Housing Authority - Home
Far North Dallas housing project to open soon | Texas Cable News | TXCN.com | News for Texas | Local News: TV
This in the article above:
"The DHA also built another development in Far North Dallas to comply with the court order: a 75-unit townhome project at Frankford Road and Marsh Lane that opened in 1998."
Or this right here on C-D where it was dicussed.
http://www.city-data.com/forum/dalla...th-dallas.html
So WHERE exactly are the DHA complexes located:
DHA - Housing Communities
Take the time to look up the addresses on those listed on the DHA website and remember that some of them are CLOSED and being torn down like the ones at Turner Courts - demolition.

My original post said "Oak Cliff or Fair Park". I did not say that they were all located there. In fact, I did not say anything else at all.

I was talking about the website that the person provided the link for. That is what I was basing my information on. I made that clear in my post.

i know our geography here is a lil rusty i.e. anything other than HP North Dallas and Lakewood is South Dallas or Oakcliff but a lot of that housing is in West Dallas. And not to defend bill's assertion that all public housing in dallas is in the fine southern half but there are tons of units in oakcliff and south dallas. The one's in east dallas are very small complexes as are many of those in north dallas. the old sprawling projects do, yes, still reside in west and south dallas and oakcliff.

West Dallas has the largest precentage of section 8 housing. Infact because of this it was determined that things should be spreaded out more and this is the reason they moved some of it to Far North Dallas. You ever wonder why no one ever mentions moving to West Dallas.

Okay folks, now that the "discussion" amongst yourselves is over on where Section 8's are around the Dallas metroplex... let's get back to the OP's question on where THEY might find SPECIFIC places to look, without any further ongoing debates!
Carry on...

Thanks for both those links. I learned something new today.
1. There is no section 8 in my zip code and 2. I never knew there was a section 8 homeownership program.

The Fountains of Rosemeade is one: Fountains of Rosemeade, but many complain about safety issues: Carrollton-Fountains-of-Rosemeade.
There is another at George Bush and the Tollway, but I'm not sure the name of that one. This map might help: 75287 - Google Maps.

OK, I can't let this one go by. There is (and has been for some time) Section 8 housing in Plano. This has NOTHING to do with the DHA. So the DHA didn't "win" any battle against the supposed racists of Plano.
You're probably thinking of the project located on Hillcrest and Geo. Bush. That's in the city of Dallas, not Plano.
