Default Castle Hills

We are looking at houses in Castle Hills and Frisco. I've read a lot of info on this forum about Frisco but was wondering if anyone knows anything or has any experience with Castle Hills. How is the home appreciation and resale value there? I would especially love to hear from socketz as he/she seems to have analyzed the market in the area. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Castle Hills is in Lewisville, near Carrolton and uses the Lewisville Schools.

http://www.castlehills.com/

Taxes are somewhat high:

0.24648 Denton County
1.77000 Lewisville ISD
1.00000 Denton County Fresh Water

Total Estimated Taxes per $100 of Value
$3.016480

You also get more for your money in Frisco.

The area also had a reputation for foundation problems (received bad press for one builder that had problems, not sure how widespread it is)

Overall, I think the area is gorgeous.

Not sure. Bobparr may know as he seems pretty knowlegable on stuff like that. I know the Darling Homes folks well (they build there) and they've never had any problems in Castle Hills.

Hi. We extensively checked out both Frisco and Castle Hills. We loved both areas and probably would have settled in Frisco because you can get more for you money there and the schools were excellent. The area is booming with plenty of shopping. It is way out there though. We ended up buying in Trophy Club. We are in a beautiful new community and near the new high school Byron Nelson which is very impressive. The NISD is very progressive with a plan for the future. The schools are excellent. If you have an opportunity, come check it out. It is beautiful and very family oriented if you have children.
