Default Dallas Home Appreciation

How quickly do homes appreciate in Dallas? We are considering moving from Phoenix to Frisco and have noticed that there are a lot of resales on the market there. It also seems that with the number of home builders in the area, the resales are having a tough time competing with them. Is this keeping home values down? Or is a low rate of appreciation just a fact of life in Dallas? Do people end of having to sell their homes for less than they paid if they only own them for a few years?

Yes, alot of the time.

However, there are many homes in areas that are popular/upscale and using good builders. There are also alot of things you need to be conscience of when you buy here. Do a search, I think we have an entire thread dedicated to this subject.

In Dallas, you need to have the 'Buy to sell' mentality if your time horizon is short.
