Exclamation question about a commute between Euless and Murphy

we are moving at the end of the month to Euless (already have an apt leased) and I just got a call from a potential employer in Murphy TX who wants to interview me. I mapquested the drive to be 35 miles and 45 minutes one way. Is that a reasonable estimation of time during daily traffic in the area? I may not even interview if enough people say that is not do-able.

Mapquest doesn't account for traffic. You would be spending well over an hour each way in traffic. The road you'd have to take (PGB Tollway) will cost you about $100 a month in tolls, too. Your call, but I would hold out for something in the mid-cities or Tarrant County if you'll be living in Euless.

Oh yea, the traffic would really, REALLY wear on you. I know interviews are hard to come by, but I do think the commute would be too much.

I'm sure you'll get a great job near your new home...you have lots of areas to choose from that are much closer! Good luck!!

I know you didn't want to decline but that commute would be flatly undoable over the long haul.

Default Commute from Irving to Westlake

I am moving to Dallas area for a job in Westlake. I am planning to live in Irving and commute to Westlake for work. How bad the commute would be during office hours? Can anyone please help.

I think it should take about 25 minutes. The construction of the corridor is moving along nicely.

lot depends on where you choose to live in Irving--Las Colinas is more upscale area in north Irving and 114 runs through it--114 feeds right through Westlake as well
but I don't see the commute as so painless
lot of traffic--construction is still underway--if there are accidents then traffic is really backed up--
25 min on a good day but could stretch to 35 or more with bad traffic

Grapevine might be just as good a choice or south part of Lewisville/Flower Mound

price point?

It's going to suck for a little bit, but should be relatively easy when the construction eases up.

Why Irving? There are other areas that are nicer and closer, unless you are trying to be close to Dallas.
