Vonage telephone Service in the Dallas metro area?
I am considering switching from Verizon to Vonage for telephone service. Just wanted to see if anyone had any experiences to share about it.
I will still keep my Verizon Fios internet connect which I think Vonage would need to run on.
Any reliability issues? Clarity of telephone calls? Any opinions?>

Have you discussed with Vonage that you have FiOS or with Verizon that you want Vonage? There was a time this would not have been allowed but not sure about now.
You should contact both customer service groups to confirm. You will need the FiOS internet channel for the data transfer... VoIP is a data product. You might do some research at BroadBand Reports.

I have Vonage on one of the lines, calls are clear & reliable. Haven't had a service issue so can't comment on customer service. Calls to several countries in Europe and Canada are free and I love that part. I call several of the places every day. Never had a disconnect issue.
I also have Verizon Fios (bundle package) and rarely have an issue with it.

I would stay with Verizon for everything. That way it is all combined and in one bill. Vonage is really only good if you make a lot of international calls. We have a Verizon bundle and LOVE it, especially Fios!

I have Vonage. Have had it for 4 years. Do NOT use it with Comcast/Time Warner. It's horrible! I was without a phone and internet too many times a week to count, and for countless hours also.
AT&T finally brought fiber optic to the curb. We were the test city in NE Richardson. Great connection! The only time we had any issues is when they were building the house 4 down from us and they hit a line. Otherwise, a million times better than Comcast/Time Warner.
Verizon is not available in my neighborhood.
