Default Better School District - Carollton Farmers Branch or Lewisville?

Hi, I'm in the market for a new house and I have narrowed my search down to 2, and the deciding factor is now school districts. Does anyone know where I can find some comparison information between Carollton-Farmers Branch and Lewisville? I'm mainly concerned about elementary schools at the moment. The 2 schools I am trying to compare are Bernice Chatman Elementary in C-FB, and Southridge Elementary in Lewisville. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

I know people in both school districts and have kids that go to those elementary schools and they like it there. So both are good choices.

look at the specific areas and check things like projected growth, road construction, current housing prices/markets for that specific area--what type of businesses are going in the area...
what about the commute to where you work
what about junior highs--if you live there long enough--those will be an issue not just elementarys schools...
look at the people on the school board...
from what I know in general--I think Lewisville would be the better choice overall--but that is mainly based on what I know about the demographics in the two areas--not always the best way to judge a district--HEB in my area has demographics that do not look as good as Birdville or other local districts but it is a very strong ISD in practice and gets good use of tax dollars...

look at number of exemplary -- recognized--acceptable rated elementary and junior highs in both districts---look at the stats from the past 3 years--has one district gone up in ratings--has one gone down? have they stayed the same?
check tax rates for each district and if you can check teacher turnover rates--better districts have less turnover...

I can speak for Berniece Chatman Freeman Elementary. Freeman has an excellent reputation with parents and children. Freeman offers parents, training courses which cover topics such as reading, math, technology, or science. These are offered on the average of twice a month. Family Nights are also offered during the year. Math and Literacy.

Berniece Chatman Freeman is under the direction of CFBISD and the quality of education that CFB offers is very strong as a whole. The demographics will be quite different from Southridge Elementary as a whole, I would imagine, from my knowledge of the Southridge area in Lewisville. The majority of students attending Freeman are Asian/Indian,Anglo, AA, and Hispanic with the highest percentage in Asian/Indian category. The children wear uniforms at this school. Uniforms are khaki or navy pants/skirts with red, white, or navy polo shirts. Freeman feeds into Bush Middle School which is an IB school and then into Ranchview HS which is also a IB School.

Honestly you will probaby not go wrong with either school district/or school. I just have first hand knowledge of Freeman Elementary.
