Default Graduating and need a place to live in Dallas

I am graduating from college in December and have been living in fort worth for the past four years. I recently got a job at Children's Medical Center of Dallas and am very unfamiliar with the area. I was wondering what the safest areas of Dallas are around and safe apartment/townhome complexes are. Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone else agree that we need to make it a mandatory rule to list your budget whenever making a, "where should I live request?"

May I suggest suburban areas such as Addison or Las Colinas area. Both have up to date type of apartments and in my opinion for the younger crowd such as 20's to 30's. As for cost both will land you in the higher end as far as apartments cost. If you move more into Coppell or Valley Ranch area there are some nice apartments but the drive would be slightly farther for you and they are not as hip. I do know several people in their late 20's and 30's that live in these areas. I'd try doing an apartment search by doing a google search. Or for that matter using an apartment searcher. Good luck and congrats on your graduation!

lea, Children's is on Motor St at I-35. Motor goes thru to Maple, the western edge (sort of) of Oak Lawn. Just southeast of Oak Lawn is UpTown and near downtown is State/Thomas. You should be able to find housing in that large area. You should be able to find like minded professionals in this area. Beware, jet pathway for Love Field runs over Oak Lawn, so between Cedar Springs and Lemmon can be noisy. But the neighborhood survives. This is inner city, urban life. You would expect to exercise caution in your relationships and behavior. Remain aware at all times of your surroundings. Keep your care, home and possessions secure at all times.

The info from sonshinelife, above, is also suitable. The Dallas North Tollway provides good travel route from the northern reaches into Dallas.

Also, there is a fairly new gated community near the Med, Inwood at Maple. Not sure of the specifics.

And also, the Trinity Railway Express - TRE runs from downtown FW, thru the mid cities to downtown Dallas, making a stop at the med. Consider that option as well.
