Default Scenic areas in Dallas?

Anybody know any scenic areas in Dallas for photography?

By scenic I mean great architecture, infrastructure, gardens, parks, etc.

For architecture: Downtown buildings such as Fountain Place, the Adolphus Hotel, Kirby Bldg., City Hall, the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Meyerson Symphony Hall, One Arts Plaza, Reunion Tower, Dealey Plaza, Old Red Courthouse and Victory Park are some of the obvious choices. For night-time photography, Neiman Marcus downtown has spectacular holiday lights. Also Lee Park along Turtle Creek Blvd. at Lemmon Ave. has great holiday lighting. I'm sure others can add to that.

Gardens & Parks: Whiterock Lake and surroundings, the Dallas Arboretum, Turtle Creek, Lake Cliff, Stevens Park Golf Course are all beautiful and are surrounded by beautiful neighborhoods.

The Houston St. bridge from Oak Cliff to downtown Dallas. You can get a good shot of Pegasus atop the 'whatever' building.

Default The Escarpment

Dallas' most scenic area?? That would be the escarpment in Southwest Dallas. It's one long, geological fault that lines from near Sherman all the way to San Antonio and a large part comes right through Dallas. Lots of geological nuances and different rock cuts. You'll see a lot of that on Spur 408 and on I-20 (in Dallas proper). That's where it is most obvious, but it's the closest thing to the Hill Country that we have here.

case44, is that the place near Duncanville where facing west you can see almost to Kali4neeya?

Would it be related to that cliff near Inwood at NWHwy that I guess is Bachmann Creek?

Try White Rock Lake and the Arboretum. Nice views of downtown, nature, and interesting local architecture all in one swoop. My favorite part of the "D" besides the Bishop Arts District and Northpark. Have fun...!

The Bishop Arts District is centered around the intersection of Davis Street and Bishop Street in North Oak Cliff. It is a former warehouse district that has recently undergone a transformation into an urban-style, walkable area of shopping and entertainment venues.

Take a walk around Fair Park. Lot of cool 1930's art deco buildings, pond, cotton bowl and other neat architecture.

To this day I am amazed on all the brick buildings in downtown and deep ellum. Its such a juxtapositioning of old and new that is rather enthralling. Downtown as a whole is just surreal and "Jetsonian". Call me a nerd but I find overpasses like 635 & 75 fascinating. These are architectural projects that are not found in many places in the world. They are well made and rather beautiful.
