Charity Donations - Furniture, Clothes, Toys, etc.
Hello all:
I have a lot of clothes and useful things I want to donate. All of these are really nice and instead of dumping them in a box outside Kroger, I am looking for a place that can give me a receipt of whatever they think the total value of these items are for tax deductions. Do you know of any place as such in Irving, or if not in the metroplex.
Thanks!

Try the Nat'l Kidney Foundation
Try calling the National Kidney Foundation at 877-KIDNEYS or 972-434-LIFE. They recently picked up a few bags of clothing and household goods from my house. Or you can drop off at 1358 West Main St, Lewisville or 3046 Forest Lane, Dallas. They will give you a receipt, but you have to estimate the value of the items donated yourself. Have a great day!

I also give to Goodwill or Salvation Army. There are plenty of attended locations in the Metroplex.

Yup. Goodwill gives you a receipt but you have to fill it in yourself.

We've always donated to the Genesis Women's Shelter in Dallas - a highly recommended organization that services the Dallas area very well!
They accept new items for their shelter as well as most anything used -- even cars! -- and will provide a pickup service for furniture and large items. The rest may be dropped off at their benefit store. They also provide you with tax forms for all donations.
Their dropoff locations and lists for both new and used items are listed on their website. They also have many Santa Holiday Donation opportunities listed as well.

Furniture Donation
I have some furniture (sofa, chair, coffee table, and end table) that I would like to donate to someone who might need it. It is nothing special but in great clean condition. Does anyone know of a charity near downtown that I can take this stuff to?

CCA will as well...you can find them located in Lewisville but they service many areas. It is a Christian based company.
Also, Metrocrest Services, I think does as well. They are located in Carrollton on Beltline in Old Downtown Carrollton.
