I think it's relevant to the point at hand. Kids living there will be "those oddballs" who go to Frisco schools but aren't part of the city of Frisco.

Not that many oddballs, look at an ISD map of the area. Frisco's ISD goes deep into Plano to the south and McKinney to the east. I have never understood why the ISDs in Texas and the city limits don't align. I know the ISD lines were set many years ago when all of these towns were rural, but as they grew and city limits got set, I don't know why the ISD lines didn't get redrawn to complement the city limit lines.

That's just silly. We live in McKinney and the kids go to Frisco ISD...how does that make them an "oddball"? Wouldn't all of the kids living around there be going to the same school?

Default Re:

Eventually they'll be attending high schools located in the City of Frisco, just like there are Plano ISD kids living in Dallas but attending HS in Plano.

Can't help with the Grand problem, but I lived in that neighborhood for 5 years and I loved it. You've got almost everything right there, which I've learned is an awesome, awesome thing to have. And I'm on the Frisco ISD bandwagon too. Also- judging from the rest of the neighborhood and hoping that things get better over the next ten years, the property value should go up, not down. And all those apartments are nice, not skeezy. I lived in all of them at one time or another.

Thanx everyone!! Appreciate your comments! I'll talk with my agent again this weekend and hopefully can have an inspection on soil in that community. Also good to know about Portait's 'coz I didn't know they stopped building.

My stepdaughter lives in Plano but it is the Frisco ISD. She is in the Manors at Ridgeview Ranch, just south of 121 between Custer and Independence. The Frisco schools are excellent, the property taxes are a bit lower, and the area is very nice. It is convenient to shopping and major highways.

You will find good and bad in both Plano and Frisco schools. Good parenting is the most important factor in raising your kids, IMO. You'll be fine there!

Good luck with your move!

Blessings,
Nina
