Dallas is spread out so if you choose Dallas you should keep that in mind when choosing where to live. Also, Austin is smaller but that doesn't mean it is easy to get around all the time. Traffic can get very bad there.

I would highly suggest Austin if you're between the ages of 18-24 & not ready to settle down in life.

Dallas is more for the young professional type in their 30's & empty nesters looking to live an urban lifestyle after they've raised a family & traded their home in the suburbs for a loft or swanky condo in the city.

honestly as a young person I think both places would be great to live in and if you could maybe expand on some of what you're looking for we may be able to give you more specific info/advice

Dallas is not 'way too spread out' - if you stay in Central Dallas you are within 10 minutes from any destination worth going - very easy to party by taxi - however, it's easier just to stay in one entertainment area. Uptown is the more glitzy see-and-be-seen area (downtown is coming along that way on Main Street) whereas Henderson, Greenville, East Dallas, Lakewood, Deep Ellum/Expo Park, North Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts and Southside/Cedars are more laid-back Austin style.

I think Austin is great for college. Dallas is great for post-college.

Definitely stay in central Dallas. The northern 'burbs are for families and people who wear bluetooths 24/7 because they are assistant to the regional manager.

There are lots of people in Collin County who arent a slave to the corporate world. I personaly am a Commercial Roofing inspector/estimator and have never owend a blue tooth. I even wear jeans to work everyday.

You talk crap about the northern suburbs in every post. Where do you live since you think your poo poo doesnt stink?
