Default Time Warner Cable

I live in the Park Cities area of Dallas and have had Time Warner Cable as my cable/internet/phone provider for the past year. I have about reached my frustration limit with them. TWC service has gone out repeatedly the last several weeks, I've had 3 service calls in 3 weeks and was scheduled to have one today -- supposedly to finish up and rebury the lines they dug up earlier when tying to fix the problem. However, after waiting all day I got STOOD UP by the technician and when I called in customer service told me I didn't have an appointment today (despite the fact that I had called and confirmed the appt earlier today and was told everything was all set!).

Bottom line, my service has been undependable and the customer service is atrocious. I'm ready to change, but I'm having trouble finding cable providers for my zip code (75209). Has any one had similar issues and found a solution?

I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

you are having trouble because of the city council's decision to award cable franchise to TW

call your city council man/woman and complain like H...
I am sure you are not the first person
send a list of all your problems--TW is supposed to be cleaning up their act...or lose the franchise...

you can get satellite if you have home and do Direct TV
you might can get Verizon Fios which I understand is really pretty good and offers fast internet access as well
or you might tru UVerse through ATT--but you can only access 4 individual channels to play on variety of tvs in your house--maybe 2 if you don't take the HD package...so that is limited access for some people...

Thx "loves2read".

I checked into Verizon FIOS, but its not available in my area. The only options I can find are AT&T Userve, TWC or switching over to DirectTV. Unfortunately, AT&T charges a $200 "installation" / switch over fee and if I switch to Direct TV, I'll still have to find an internet and phone provider.
