Kumusta everybody and belated Happy New Years,

Sorry for bumping this old thread but I'm considering moving to Plano and had a few questions please?

I'm a Filipino-American guy born in SF married to a Chinese girl with our chinoy toddler. My mother, who was born in the Philippines, lives with us and in a few years, my wife's parents will also be staying with us so the affordability (compared to California and Hawaii) and diversity of Plano makes it appealing. With that said, I've never traveled to Texas and because of COVID, I'm worried that there might be a lot of anti-Asian racism growing in the area? Personally, I'm independent so can see both sides points of view (I'm like Joe Rogan) but I'm also not naive that there aren't some close minded people that could possibly do harm on both sides so that's why I'm looking for a diverse area so that both sides can balance each other out sorta speak and just chill out and be happy.

Is this the case with Plano?

I know everywhere will have some level of racism (even in liberal California) so I don't care if there's a few bad apples but I don't want it to be normalized either.

Lastly, based on my research, I know there's a large Chinese population and obviously with Toyota, a large Japanese population but just how big is the Filipino population there?

Maraming salamat!

Plano is pretty big. I don't live in Plano itself but about 10 minutes away from Toyota. Maybe someone else can chime in from a more neighborhood-to-neighborhood perspective, but when I'm shopping, eating, or working in Plano, I never feel out of place.
According to Wikipedia, there's more Filipinos than Japanese in Plano. Toyota is a Japanese company but there are more Indian people working there than Japanese.
I don't think you'll stand out to be honest. A good chunk of Plano is Asian. The largest, according to Wikipedia is Indian and Chinese.

Maraming salamat Narfalicious! I appreciate your opinion. Do you mind me asking which city do you live in then? Or rather can you recommend other cities around Plano? Garland or Mesquite? Is it pretty diverse all around Dallas or is it specific to Plano?

Thanks again!
