Default DL - Atlanta vs Dallas

I've read many thread on the similarities between Atlanta and Dallas. T here is one thing that I'm curious about. Atlanta is filled with men who are on the DL (down Low) of every culture. Is Dallas the same way??

Are there statistics for that sort of thing? I would think it would be just like anywhere else.

It's a slang term referring to gay/bi men who stay in the closet. See below for more detail. I'm sure that does occur frequently here, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Dallas is a difficult place for out of the closet gay people to live. Whether or not an individual finds it necessary to be on the DL depends a lot on the specific culture within which the individual lives. Dallas is generally very gay friendly.

Down-low (sexual slang - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Correction... when one is on the DL they are adamant about not being a GAY male. They are not in the closet because according to them there is nothing to come out about. Most men on the DL live a completely straight lifestyle (married, kids, 2 dogs, cat and house on the hill). The reason it is called the "down low" is because this lifestyle is totally secretive and only known to those in that secret little circle. So please don't insult the gay community, two totally different lifestyles. Being on the DL is a totally deceptive lifestyle especially to one's spouse or girlfriend.

Now to OP there can't be any real statistics on the numbers of men in Dallas on the DL unless they are willing to be honest in some type of survey! Living in Atlanta I know it is widely discussed and the saying is "be careful in the ATL because you don't know what you are dating". When I moved to DFW a female friend did worn me that there are just as many here as there are in Atlanta. It went in one ear and out the other. I wasn't going to get into all that drama again. For that matter it can be just as many in Boise, or St Louis or Reno.

yes there are alot, trust me. I won't get on a soap box but I'll just say I think it's a sad and deceiving lifestyle. Be honest to yourself and others.
