Most expensive house in dallas?
So, what is the most prestigious house in Dallas?
I saw this one on a real estate website:
http://p.rdcpix.com/v02/l0c6e9941-m0m.jpg
6 bedrooms 10 baths. Asking 65 million.
Google earth link
Anyone know anything better?

Ahhh the Champ d'Or. I thought I read it had sold last year but guess not. Up to 65 mil now? Good grief. Why, I wouldn't pay a dime over 64!!
That place is definitely the fanciest place in Denton and probably in the whole state, but as far as the most expensive house in Dallas proper, I don't know who comes in the winner. Tom Hicks' place maybe??

That place has been for sale for so many years. The owner is what some people would call "crook".
Started a telecom company and hit the jackpot during the Nasdaq boom, made bunch of money from stocks, options etc, then the company went "kaput" and bought out by another company for on fire sale bankruptcy prices. This also effected the owner of the house, and he has been trying to sell the place for like many years.
Moderator cut: real estate company name removed was the listing agent for some time, they were asking high, then dropped the price to like 50M or so last I remember.

The house that was supposed to be one of the most expensive in Dallas proper burnt down last year or the year before just weeks away from being completed. It was over in the Preston Hollow area.
Yes, that house in Denton County has been for sale for a LONG TIME! Too far out for the big money of the Dallas crowd, imho.

About 3 years ago it was on the market for 45 mil... They must have updated the kitchen...
That house is always featured on the TV shows documentaries or in publications of architecture, etc...

Moderator cut: real estate company website
Here's a link to the houses website. It appears to be a great house for entertaining.

Even at 45 mill it seems a bit pricey. At 45 mill the property tax will run you about 1.35 mill or 3,700 per day.

Ya I agree, especially considering where it is at. I think they will probably have to lower the price some and it will eventually sale as more people move that way.
