Have I got a list for you! Dallas is blesssed with TONS of great stores for house decorating that are reasonably priced.

Home Decor Only -
Sam Moon
11635 Harry Hines Blvd
Dallas
They are located at the intersection of LBJ and Stemmons. Awesome prices. I found the most beautiful floor lamp there. They have a few pictures, but mostly carry unusual knick knacks and a few small furniture pieces like tables. For instance, they had this incredible game table with barrel-shapped chairs that slid under the table making this really cool unit.

Anderson Furniture
1717 E Spring Creek Pkwy
Plano
Mom mentioned this one already. It's in the Spring Creek Outlet. They will be moving soon, so now's a great time to find furniture.

The Dump
2700 Ranch Trail (off LBJ on your way to The Big Airport)
Irving
This one is hit or miss. When you walk in, turn to your left and look in the section right by the door. They have do sometimes carry very unusual knick-knacks. The rest of the store is furniture. Oh! You didn't say, but they do have great prices on persian rugs. At the front door, turn right at the first big aisle on the right and go all the way to the end of the football field.

Flea Market at Spring Creek Outlet
1717 E Spring Creek Pkwy
Plano
I just loovve flea markets! This is the place to find buried treasure. There must be twenty vendors setup in the store.

Home Decor and Posters
Michaels - multiple locations
801 W 15 St, Plano
19105 LBJ, Mesquite

Hobby Lobby - multiple locations
14858 Preston Rd, Dallas
3616 Forest Ln, Dallas
600 W 15th St, Plano (just past Collin Creek Mall)
2302 N. Galloway, Mesquite
2540 Old Denton Rd, Carrollton
2217 S Loop 288, Denton

Garden Ridge - multiple locations
2727 Towne Center, Mesquite
2512 S Stemmons, Lewisville
1717 E Spring Creek, Plano

(great selection of pictures and posters)

All three stores carry the same type of items: home decor, pictures, mirrors, posters, frames (including instore shops for custom framing), small pieces of furniture, specialty items for theme parties. The list goes on and on for these stores. Oh, yeah, I just remembered they also carry kitchen gadgets, silk flowers (they do custom arrangements), lamps, suits of armor; you know, the knick knacks that give your home that special look that says, "This is me".

There are great stores in the Knox-Henderson area, but just be aware, the prices include the ambiance of the store. If you're still in Denton, just take Stemmons to Woodall to Central. Exit Knox-Henderson, immediately get in the righthand lane, turn on Knox and pray you find a parking space. When you get tired of shopping, go down a few blocks and have lunch at the Capitol Pub. I HIGHLY recommend the cheese tray in the Appetizer section (it's a meal in itself).

Prices at Z Gallerie are reasonable for the quality - in terms of their art.

You can always check out the design district (is that what it's called?) around alpha road & the tollway, including Eurway (reasonable prices) and Cantoni (extravagant prices) among others.

For modern artsy, try Eurway on Alpha Road, Zuri on Alpha Road, or Century Modern on Main street. That's all i can think of right now. Century Modern is pretty cool and is sort of retro modern.

Also, You could probably pick up some knick knacks at Ikea.

You might give CCA in Lewisville off 121 business near Corporate and CCA in The Colony. I know someone that often finds great steals at CCA. I think the one in Lewisville is a pretty big store.

The Goodwill in Carrollton in my opinion is not so grand. I went once with my mother -in -law and went ouch when I walked in the door. There may be other locations that are more organized and offer better quality items.

How about a resale store of some sort? There may still be some of those around. Also, Tuesday Morning just came to mind.
