We all have our favorite restaurants in Dallas. I'd love to hear some of your favorites, as I am going to try to visit some restaurants that I have never been to before this year.

I'd like to share a recommendation with all of you. On Live Oak Street in East Dallas sits a modest building that is home to the Alligator Cafe. They've got some of the best cajun food in the Metroplex in a very casual setting at incredible prices. They've got a musician who plays blues music a few nights a week as well (can't remember what nights, but something tells me it's Thursday and Friday). The Alligator Cafe

Another favorite of mine is Vito's Pizza in Irving. Despite it's name, it's got a full menu. It's not much for atmosphere, but the food more than makes up for that...I'd recommend trying the house dressing on a salad. It's a very unique tomato-based dressing that goes well with their salads. Finally, Richardson's Chinatown area has a lot of restaurants. I've only eaten at one - Canton Restaurant - but it is very good. Classic Cantonese food served family style (it comes on a big plate, and you scoop the food onto your plate).

Let's hear your recommendations as well!

There's a pretty cool place on Lemmon at Throckmorton, or sort of set back in a little strip shop place. The name is Tios Tortas but looks like they're moving. Pretty good Mexican sandwiches. And beer. An unusual sort of place. Hope they move nearby.
