Default Cedar Hill vs SW Arlington

My family has been looking at houses in South and West Arlington. We like the neighborhoods and schools in Arlington, especially in the Martin HS area. We are finding mostly older homes many of which need work in our price range. There are many newer homes in Cedar Hill that I would like to look at but I don't know much about the area. It would also be closer to my husband's job in Duncanville. Can anyone tell me about the good places to live in Cedar Hill? Most of the houses I have looked at online are just south of Beltline and East of 67. Also, we have preschool age children so we would like to know about the schools as well.

Thanks in advance.

Your best choice for school information is www.greatschools.net. The area west of 67 over towards Joe Pool lake might be a nicer area to look at, but I'm not sure what price point you're considering.
