Question Green Line Rail Expansion - Will it help home values near Bachman Lake?

I'm trying to glean a bit of insight regarding what to do with an older home I recently moved from. It's due North of Love Field, within walking distance of the new Bachman Branch Library and is about a mile from the new Bachman Station. The Dart Rail Green Line expansion is scheduled to open several stations nearby very soon. The new NW Rail Operating facility will be about a mile away too. (Not sure of the precise dates - but I know it is all happening very soon - some this year. ) I'm hoping that with a little work and patience I can rent the place out until the market gets better, but I'm not sure if all this local Rail expansion will affect this particular neighborhood. My Dad's the ultimate pessimist and thinks I should just get rid of the place. But, since I only lived there 3 years and the market has fallen, I'm upside down in the loan and it would cost me several thousands to get out. Personally I can't see how the value cannot go up in a matter of 10 or more years. But, then again - we are in a very, very strange economy where it seems the powers that be can make money worth or not worth whatever they want in an instant. I appreciate your comments, facts and opinions regarding this.

My opinion on this is to look at the development that has ocurred on the other side of town (75 and the rail extension that goes up to Richardson and Plano). ParkLane complex, Mockinbird station, uptown, etc etc.

I think the Green line will have a big impact on this part of town. Furthermore, the rail on 75 lies east of the highway. Imagine the impact of the Greenline as it will lie on the east side of 35 (or inside the populated areas of inner Dallas. It will take time but there should be significant development in that area. I sometimes cant believe how underdeveloped NW Dallas is west from Marsh Ln. Its due to go up.

We have had a lot of apartment teardowns around here - not sure if it is attributable to DART rail, but that certainly has helped.

There are tons of outdated (not that well-built in the first place) apartments in NW Dallas which I hope will meet the same fate.
