She needs a one bedroom apartment in a safe area with adequate parking. A pool would be nice but not necessary. As far as rent goes she is currently paying an outrageous price in Atlanta and would like to cut that down to a reasonabe amount maybe in the $700-900 area. I have no idea what the market bears in Dallas so if you could educate me there that would be great, too! Thank you for any advice and suggestions.

It is probably possible in this economy for her to find something nice in Uptown for around $900/month. Post Properties (
Apartments for Rent - Nationwide Luxury Apartments - Post Properties Apartment Locator) and Gables (
Gables, Gables.com - Apartments for Rent, Luxury Apartments, Furnished Apartments, Unfurnished Apartments, Corporate Housing) have lots of different complexes in Uptown. Apartment occupancy rates are down somewhat in Dallas from last year, so they might be offering specials. Another option could be to lease a privately owned 1BR condo in Uptown or in one of the high-rise buildings on Turtle Creek (specifically, The Renaissance at 3225 Turtle Creek). It is a huge full service building and there are always properties for lease there. That is very close to Uptown. PM me if you want more info.
