Hole in the Wall - Mom and Pop Places to Eat
I'd like to recommend a few places and see if others out there have any suggestions.
Campisi's on Mockingbird for Pizza
Kuby's in Snyder Plaza for the German Sausage plate.
I hit Indian Palace off of Preston for Indian food. (not so much a hole in the wall..rather nice inside)
Sonny Bryan's on Inwood for BBQ of course. I thought Peggy Sue's was overrated.
Where would I get the best hamburgers? Fried seafood? Soul food? Are there any other Dallas "institutions" out there that I've missed?
Being from Ft Worth I don't get over too much.

For my money the best burger is at The Old Monk.
Also if you have missed Alligator Cafe for Gumbo or Catfish/Shrimp/Alligator you are really missing out.
Try Omegas for Mexican food.
For good comfort food try Cowboy Cafe.
Also for Indian Pasand in Richardson is very good.
For pastry try Rush Patisserie.
Just my opinions.

Draft Maredsous, a Stilton Burger, and their skinny fries... pure Heaven.

Try Winfields burger joint and the tacos's from Fuel City. For soul food Sweet Georgia Browns has standing room only on the weekend. Most folks either love it or hate it. There is no in between. The portions are huge. Babes Chicken is great for southern comfort food. No you have made me hungry.

That would be Good Luck Burgers on S. Lamar. Wonderful link baskets and shakes so thick you'd need a spoon.

You can have a really great lunch at Del's Charcoal Burgers in Richardson. Beltline/75 area.
There's also Pizza Villa, Aboca's, and Amigo's Comida Casera in the same area.
