"Racism may be the reason all the whites moved from Dallas to Richardson, but it's certainly not the reason folks go from Plano to Frisco."
That's a very good answer and spot on.

The majority of the people that reside in Frisco NOW have most likely NOT lived in Richardson, Dallas or other areas around the metroplex. To say Frisco is there because of "white flight" is not accurate. Frisco is there because of "JOB Flight" by people in other states and countries.

I would agree with that. Most of the residents of Plano, Frisco, Allen and McKinney are not original residents of Texas. I know alot of folks in those cities and all of them are from somewhere else. It's the landing spot for folks who have been relocated or move to the area for a new start. It would surprise me if 75% of more of the residents are not from the DFW area. You would be hardpressed to find someone who graduated from Frisco high.

Well, yes it IS still "way out" there. Only difference between now and then............ back then it was considered COUNTRY and one had to take a drive thru the "countryside" to even get there.

Now you have the DNT that will zip you up there (traffic permitting) from downtown in 30 minutes or less. Rush hour adds just that...another hour.

Well I certainly doubt racism has been eliminated. You have to see where I am coming from - I lived through all that stuff which began as early as when I was in elementary school in the late 1960s but didn't really take off until the 1970s when HPISD and the suburbs were given a pass from the desegregation suit. Some schools went from all white to all black in a year or less. Hispanics were counted as white back then.
So what do you think has happened to the large numbers white/Anglo people in Irving, Garland, Mesquite, Carrollton, and Farmer's Branch schools for instance? Also there are many RISD schools which are now majority minority. I think Plano ISD is only about 50% Anglo these days (exept W. Plano) - if you look at Frisco, Allen, Wylie and to a degree McKinney they are very white.
Also look at Duncanville, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Midlothian, Mansfield -- see any progression?

Good Lord. We have a black president so we're making progress and I understand racism still exists but don't make us all out to be racists! Sometimes some of us want to move to a nicer and safer neighborhood with people of our same economic status. Maybe we're snobs but that doesn't make us racists. I don't care what color you are, if you can afford to live next to me then more power to you.
Alleging that someone does something because they're a racists does nothing but put that person on the defensive and I resent that.

I think the point is that it was started the flight to the surburbs. Back in the 70's you had all white and all black neighborhoods. Other than HP those neighorbhoods no longer exist. People choose were they live now based on economics not race. All burbs have diversity now and if you want to live in a all white community now you would have to move to HP or very rural Texas. I graduated highschool in 1981. Because I am black I could go to just about any high school in DISD on a minority to majority enrollment plan that is in place. I couldn't go to any DISD highschool now on that same plan. In fact a white person would be the minority and they could go to any highschool they wanted on the same plan now.
