Smile Good junior high schools in lewisville isd

Help please!! I'm looking to move back to the DFW area, preferably Lewisville/Richardson/Carrollton area. I've heard Lewisville ISD is better. Any truth to it. I've checked many schools and would like to get some feedback. I know the stats can sometimes be a little misleading. My son will be going to the 7th grade, so High School info would be great also. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Durham middle school was 9/10 stars on greatschools.net last time I checked. Durham is fed by part of Coppell and the Vista Ridge area of Lewisville I think.

Check greatschools.net. I know Flower Mound schools are outstanding, but part of Lewisville ISD. Lewisville does have some good schools as well.

Hope the website helps

Lewisville ISD is "better" than Carrollton-Farmers's branch because of its demographics -- there is more money and fewer minority students in the district--more college-educated households which means usually students who are more motivated, fewer ESL students because there are fewer apt complexes and rent houses...
junior highs have harder time gettting recognized or exemplary rating because they have more students and more diverse populations than elementary schools that have fewer students and usually a narrow focus because of the residential areas they serve...

check out how many students in a jr high received commended--what % of overall students--that is really better indication of quality teaching than just the overall rating...

an acceptable rating with high level of commended is better to me than a recognized rating with a smaller % of commended---
to me first thing I would think is that basically all those kids read on grade level and come from middle class homes--there is not lot of "hard" teaching to raise up students' abilities to pass TAKS--so if that school cannot make students with avg skills better--why not?

I have heard good things about Downing Middle School in Flower Mound, but like most of the schools in Flower Mound there is a big big percentage of higher income folks there. For some people, that is not a good thing. Others, it's no big deal. Downing feeds into Marcus High.
