As a student who has attended Plano ISD schools all of his life, I know firsthand the positives of Plano ISD. I can say for sure that there are WAY more positives than negatives.

Let's draw from my personal experience, as I don't want to speculate or post an inaccurate information. Plano West Senior High School, as per the UIL, has an enrollment of about 4,300 students. That kind of scares people, but it's easy to break down. However, on campus, there are only 2,000 students. That is because PWSH is only for juniors and seniors. The rest of the students come from Jasper High School (my old school) and Shepton High School.

Look at GreatSchools. With an exception of a few schools in East Cluster, all of the schools are rated 10/10, including every single school I've attended in my PISD career. Plano West, Plano and Plano East all offer a TON of AP courses. The honors courses are also excellent, and the Regulars courses are as challenging as honors courses in other districts. But don't worry about the challenge level, PISD has some of the best teachers in the area and for the most part, they all work hard to ensure that students are successful in their class. Not to mention, I believe 99% of our graduates go on to college.

While there are some haters out there, it is without a doubt that PISD is the premier ISD in the Northern Dallas suburbs.
