Is Paris commutable from Melissa?
My husband got a job in Paris Texas. The dilemma is that I am a city girl and cannot see myself living there. If I live in Melissa, I figure I am pretty close to McKinney. How long of a commute would it be from Melissa to Paris? Also, does anyone know where I can get info on Chauffeur service in case he doesnt want the stress of the drive on his own?

He would be in the car about 90 minutes each way. I wouldn't want to waste that much of my life sitting in a car every day (either driving or being driven by hired help) when I could be with my family.

Had to go to Paris today from Frisco, two hours each way. Went thru Melissa and it was not quite the halfway point, so would say it is less than 90 mins, but more than an hour.

It will never work. He will get burned out and depressed.
It is the equivalent of working 12 hr+ shift. Not to mention you will get killed on automotive expense. 160 miles per day x 5 days = 800 x 50 = 40,000 miles per year. You'll have to buy a used car every 3 years or a new car every 5 years.
Pack your bags.

I drove to Paris last week from Mesquite to pick up my mother in law. There is no way I would want to make that trip everyday.

My boss drives from Bonham to Lewisville, but he had to buy an HHR because his truck was taking food off the table.
It would definitely be more of a sacrifice than you realize - at least look at homes out there, you never know.

Thanks for the responses. I guess it won't work, so I need to decide if I want to live out there, or chuck the option altogether, no matter how much $$ they offer. :-(
