We are trying to decide between relocating to Sunnyvale or Forney and are wanting some details about the schools and community. We know that Sunnyvale and Forney are both building a new high school. Any details about the quality of the schools and basic feel of the town would be appreciated. Feel free to message me if you would like.

Thanks!

Well, Sunnyvale is building its first high school and Forney is building its second. So, Sunnyvale will be one of those one high school towns that often have a closer community feel, than a town that is now divided into two high schools, like Forney.

I don't know much else about the areas, but I thought Sunnyvale housing was generally more expensive because their houses were on bigger lots. There is some pretty inexpensive housing in Forney. I have heard good things about both communities.

Price range is a BIG factor here. Sunnyvale's per capita income is a LOT higher than Forney, and the home prices reflect it.

Sunnyvale certainly has a higher income than Forney. The new highschool will be very small compared to most surburban schools. This may or may not be a big deal to you. I think if given a choice most folks would choose Sunnyvale over Forney. Sunnyvale would compare much better with Rockwall.

I have met some of the admin/faculty at Sunnyvale ISD (and seen the new HS) and IMO they are completely serious about providing an education for the community's students. It might be useful, if inaccurate, to think of SISD as a college prep school system.
