Yet, when you check that article's history, it hasn't been changed recently, BECAUSE I SIMPLY GOOGLED "South Dallas" and posted the wikipedia entry.
EXPOSITION PARK IS A PART OF SOUTH DALLAS. PERIOD. This is an indisputable fact.
I don't care if you believe me or not, but you will have to live with the knowledge that YOU ARE WRONG.

Personally, I'd trust Artsguy sooner than you. Sorry.

Here's another map (scroll down) putting South Dallas in the Fair Park area and down the 175 corridor into Pleasant Grove. South Dallas and Oak Cliff are not the same thing, no matter how many people in the Metroplex use the terms interchangably.

OK, well IMO - Fair Park is the dividing line between East and South Dallas - Expo Park is more East Dallas than South Dallas - part of O.M. Roberts and the Jubilee Park neighborhood on the north side of Fair Park feed into Woodrow Wilson High which is as East Dallas as you can get.
When R. L. Thornton I-30 opened in the 60s a lot of folks called anything south of that "South Dallas".
What I consider old South Dallas is the area in front of Forest/Madison High on MLK (formerly Forest Avenue) which includes the old mansions on South Boulevard and Park Row. Not particularly scary to me. Behind or south east of Fair Park is the Lincoln High/Lagow/Hatcher/Oakland Cemetery area which is high crime. I would also call that South Dallas.
Of course everyone has an opinion!

I am going by my own perception on what is east and south in regards to what I'm seeing on a map.
According to a map. Fair Park isn't on the north side or west side of Dallas. It appears to be somewhere in the east central area.

It is how you perceive things when you examine a map.

I'm from Dallas. If you love great shopping (best in the world, hands down), an endless supply of great restaurants and the arts then it’s your place. I'm in Austin now and can tell you that if you like the outdoors then this is it. I just went to Barton Springs this week and it was amazing, as usual. The river is fantastic, clear and cool, the lake has giant cliffs and views, there are countless trails, caves, horseback riding, strong tennis programs, golf, disk golf courses, vineyards in the hills, cute restaurants downtown (with great design), and a good music scene. I do miss aspects of Dallas but the scenery of Austin keeps me here.
Oh, and Fair Park is slightly over the edge into south east Dallas.

But...the neighborhood it's in is called "South Dallas," regardless of where it is on a map.
The neighborhood is just southeast of downtown. That neighborhood is called "South Dallas." North and West Oak Cliff are to the west, Pleasant Grove is to the east, East Dallas is to the north, Downtown is to the northwest.
North Dallas High School is in the area usually called "Uptown." This is nowhere near North Dallas. The reason is that when the school was built that area WAS northern Dallas. South Dallas is in the same situation, except it has not been renamed since.

You've responded to the subject with about 5 posts; I'm guessing you just don't like being wrong.
Do you even live in Dallas?
