I sense the attitude of many Dallasites is indifferent towards Houston. Neither a like or dislike for the city.

I don't agree that many people in Dallas criticize Houston for its humidity and pollution. Dallas has it's own pollution issues and it's hot as hell during the summer.

Personally, I like the fact Texas has two up and coming World Class cities.

Dallas & Houston share a friendly rivarly its nothing personal. Just two cities fighting for supremacy in the state of Texas.

Hm. I've lived here for about 8 years and Houston rarely comes up in conversation, other than when someone says they went there for the weekend. I think everyone I know is indifferent to Houston. It's just....there.

Guess it's like complaining about peaches. Sure, someone is bound not to like the fruit but is it really conversation worthy?

Not any more than is appropriate...

But seriously, it seems to me like there is more hatred/jealousy/whatever from Houston toward Dallas. As goofy as it sounds, a lot of it probably stems from the Dallas Cowboys championship hardware and the Oilers...er, the Texans...lack of it.

Can someone who has been through the summers in Houston & Dallas compare them? I have been through the summers in Houston but not Dallas.

Much less humid than Houston, but a couple of degrees warmer. Might seem a bit "cooler" without all of the humidity of the coast. But basically both cities are extremely hot during the Summer.

The temps in Dallas are typically higher, but the humidity level is lower on average. Dallas is HOT during the 3rd quarter. Houston is not as hot but it can feel very soupy.

I've lived in both, for an extended period of time in each. I don't think the citizens of either spend much time thinking of, at or about the other.

If you don't like where you live then move somewhere else. Or waste your time dwelling upon the non-opportunity. All this 'who's on first' about Dallas/SanAntone/Houston/Austin is time better spent hugging a loved one.

Not really, I put them and their "Dallitude" in their place everyday up here.

I think it's more of a friendly jest and rivalry for the most part, though I have heard some people from the Dallas area say Houston is full of fat people, humid, ugly, sprawling, flat and polluted, as if the city didn't have a partner in crime.
