Humidity/Weather in Dallas vs Miami
Hi. I'm a recent college grad, young, & a single guy. I'm trying to decide where to move. I was wondering about the weather and humidity in Dallas and Miami. Which is worse? Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks

Dallas is more of a 4 seasons kind of climate than Miami. Winter, Spring & Fall are generally about 2-3 months each. Winters are mild compared to much of the country. Some winter days can be beautiful w/temps in the 60's, but there will also be some cold & dreary days. Spring usually includes a lot of rain, but there will also be plenty of near-perfect days in the 70's or 80's. Fall is similar to Spring, but typically has less rain. Summer weather lasts about 5 months (roughly June - October). The harshest temps (100 degrees and higher) will happen mostly in August and September. The humidity fluctuates a lot in Dallas. Some days can be pretty humid and others can be quite dry. Miami is probably more humid on average, but not as hot in the summer. No worries about hurricanes in Dallas unlike Miami. Our concern is more about tornadoes. But, I think the last one to actually do significant damage within the city of Dallas was in the 1950's. There was a tornado that did a lot of damage in Downtown Ft. Worth in 2000.

There's no comparison. Miami is much more humid. Dallas can be hotter in terms of temperature but it's drier (not Arizona dry but drier than Florida). And Miami summers seem to go on much longer than Dallas summers. The upside for Miami is the winters are gorgeous while Dallas bundles up because it's dipping down into the 30s. The worst is when ice forms on the roads. But there isn't a ton of snow so it's never too debilitating. Overall, I like Dallas better but it's a matter of personal preference.

I grew up in Dallas and was once a fairly regular visitor to Miami and Key West. I really cannot handle the humidity in Miami - I thought I could but I guess I am a wimp (or getting too old - also it helps if you are drinking). Best to go in more temperate times.

I always thought Dallas was boiling and humid and Miami wasn't bad because of the ocean breeze...

short and to the point: humidity higher in Maimi, temps higher in Dallas. It depends on where you are moving from and what you consider bad...The positive thing about Dallas, no hurricanes, the negative, posible tonados.
