Moving to Grapevine area
My husband will be working in Grapevine and we want an affordable home with land and a pool. Any suggestions on where to look for a house? We have a dog that needs a fenced in yard and will have a baby soon.

try an MLS search site---there are plenty of homes for sale in Grapevine
it all depends on your price point and other preferred factors...getting "land" in Grapevine is expensive--most homes have quarter acre subdivision lots--

I'll ask the same as someone else, what price range and of course what size? There are lots of good areas in and around Grapevine, depending on your price range and what size lot you want: there is Grapevine itself, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Southlake, Argyle, Keller just to mention a few..

Definitely do define "affordable" and also how much land you want.
There are lots of houses in Grapevine itself and I think you'll find it is a wonderful place to live. DH and I have been here for almost 7 years now and we love it!

We are looking at 1 or more acres and the price range is below $800,000. We are tired of living in a community with neighbors way too close to our house. We want a 4/5 bedroom house with a more casual/rustic look.

check out the MLS site I will send you--of the best around for DFW housing--and you can see that your target type is going to be pretty limited...if you stick ONLY to Grapevine..but Colleyville and Southlake are within the immediate area and have good schools..although not all homes in Colleyville have GCISD schools--some have Keller or HEB ISD zoning...
in Grapevine area you might also consider Lewisville/Flower Mounda area--Lewisville ISD is quality district and there are homes that might fit your requirements...
Keller is further west and has homes on acreage that might appeal to you as well or go north toward Denton area

Check out the River Oaks subdivision in Flower Mound. There are some beautiful homes on wooded lots in your price range - all on 1 acre lots. It is the neighborhood in Flower Mound that I would LOVE to buy in if I had the $$. The schools for this neighborhood (elem - high) are the best! If you pm me, I will send you some listings for that neighborhood. (I'm not a realtor. I just live in Flower Mound and have been looking at homes here for the last couple of years -considering an upgrade, so I'm very familiar with the neighborhoods) It would be about a 10 - 15 min. commute to Grapevine.

that would be my choice as well, plus Argyle and Double Oaks are posibilities if you want an acre..Lewisville/Flower Mound schools are great, so are Grapevine and yes, Southlake if you can find something. I think in your price range you will have very little trouble...
