Looking for a part-time money-maker and was wondering if anyone thinks it would be a good idea to purchase a ice cream truck route somewhere here in the north dallas area.I've sold ice cream back in New Jersey for a few months and was a descent money-maker but curious to see if it would do well here in dallas.Anyone ever try it or maybe have a comment on this?

I've been living in North Dallas for around 2 months now and my experience tells me that you would probably have to deliver it. The distance from the front of the house to the kerbside would be just too far to walk.

It'd probably be a pretty tough sell. We have a couple cracked-out ice cream trucks that roll through our neighborhood and they make the occasional sale. They've gotta be making at least _some_ money, though, because they come back every summer.

I have not seen one in a long time. It has been several years and probably in our old neighborhood that we last saw an ice cream truck come thru. I wish they still did. Well, once that looked like you wouldn't mind your kids even approaching it Some were just so rundown and nasty looking you didn't know they were really selling ice cream except for the music.

That's the way ours are. They look like they spend the off-season up on blocks in someone's front yard.

Or delivering crack in a third world country with the sun baking it.

We have at least one in our neighborhood. Looks about like what I remember from childhood except I'm not chasing after it.

Hmm,
Wonder if one has to chase after said ice cream truck if it negates any calories that may be consumed from the products purchased from ice cream truck

Only if you chase it for a couple miles

No can do then. I might spill my margarita chasing it. Or run out of my margarita before I catch it.
