I'm moving to Plano from Missouri for a temp job this summer and need a cheap apartment. I'll be working in the Legacy/North Tollway area, so I'd like to stay as close as possible to make the morning commute easy. Since it's only three months, I won't be bringing a lot of items with me, so I'm considering a studio apartment to save money (plus it won't look so bare and lonely!).

So...I've been looking around for a while now, but it seems that everything close to Legacy/DNT area is spendy. Are there other areas I should consider? What's The Colony like? If I move farther away in Plano, will the commute be long? Looks like the better deals are in mid/south Plano...or even east Plano, if the commute won't be too bad.

It's kind of nerve-racking trying to pick an apartment sight unseen...although I might try to splurge and make the drive next weekend if I can. If not, I'm totally relying on whatever info I can get online and from phone calls, etc. I'm a seasoned apt dweller, but I've always had a chance to look at them first. Any help is VERY much appreciated!

Bump.

I probably should have given my thread a different title. It probably looks like I think I'm on craigslist or something. ;-)

I'm think it's the 3 month rental that's going to make it difficult to find an apartment. Being that it's the summer, maybe something might be available near UTD (University of Texas at Dallas) in Richardson for June through August (or whatever approximates the school term).
