I'm looking at jobs at the major airport (TSA, DAL Global, etc.), but the surrounding areas don't appeal to me at all.

I was looking at the Duncanville/Cedar Hill areas, however, and they look like a pretty good fit for me.

does anyone know what the commute would be like between the two areas?

The South Dallas/Ledbetter Dr area is also an option for relocation.

About 30-45 min depending on time of day and traffic. When I commuted up there, I found the traffic on Spur408/Loop 12 to be a little more bearable than I-35. You can also take Beltline if there is an accident.

I looked at a map and it looks like the airport and Cedar Hill are directly connected by Beltline, but I'm assuming that wouldn't be the best option?

Beltline is a surface street. Lots of traffic lights, school zones and local police looking for speeders. You can get there that way, but not the best option.

Either way it looks like I'm going to have to start looking at some other options because 30-45 min every day is a lot longer than I'm used to. Even in a big city. When I lived in San Antonio it took me 12 min to drive from my apartment to the airport, so I guess you can say I was spoiled.

12 minutes is gonna be a stretch anywhere you look. Maybe Irving off 183 or North Arlington off 360.

Are u looking to buy or rent? What areas by the airport don't appeal to you? Because some of the cities closest to DFW are very nice like Grapevine, Los Colinas, Valley Ranch or Irving (same thing), Coppell, Lewisville, Farmers Branch. It takes me 10 mins to scoop someone up from DFW.

I'm looking to rent in the &400-$700 range (that's all I can handle for the time being)
