Default Best way to commute from Carrollton to Bedford

We are relocating from S.C. My job will be in Bedford. In looking for a private school, we found one in Carrollton/Addison called American Heritage that offers a specific program for some learning disabilities my son has. With that in mind, I would like to live near the school and take a bit of a commute to my job.

I have heard that there is upcoming major construction on the Grapevine funnel where 121, 635 and 114 come together. I wondered what kind of commute I might have if I go around the south side of DFW from the Carrolltonarea. We have found some neighborhoods and homes in our price range (350-450k) south of 121 and north of George Bush turnpike.

Any thoughts?

4th Generation Dallas is on a distinguished road
The upcoming construction where 121, LBJ and 114 come together (called The Funnel) is going to be brutal. Until that begins I would take 121 all the way. Afterwards, Bush to 183/Airport Fwy is going to be your next best bet---and Airport Freeway ain't no picnic.

I would suggest taking the George Bush Turnpike AKA 190 south to 183 and go west to Bedford. The downside is that it's a toll road. I think it would be about 30-40 minutes to Bedford once you get on the turnpike then add the time it would take you from the house to the tpk.

I wouldn't set your heart on American Heritage. They announced they are closing at the end of the school year:

I would say that it would take a maximum of 30 minutes once on the turnpike. 190 is usually moving pretty good on that end of it. Once on 183, they would be going the opposite direction of most traffic, so it wouldn't be that bad.
