Default Fence Question/Recommendation

Here is the deal we have a three foot chain link fence. There from previous owners. Neighbor has bratty kids. I have several dogs. I am in need of a fence.

Recommendation on fence companies?
Why doesn't fence companies offer financing?

Should I (or can I) leave my chain link up and put a wood fence up too? It makes me mad to know I have to fork out tons on $$ and they get a fence on one side of my property! I don't want those kids coloring and hanging on my fence!

Does anyone have this problem?

Don't get me wrong I love kids, but these kids throw stuff in my yard. Jump over my fence. Irritate my dogs (and me), by standing at the fence and barking at them. Day in and day out. I have two back yards, the main one is fenced with the chain link, the far back is open...to which these children run around in.

I have spoken to the neighbors about their grand children...but nothing is fixed. They even see the kids doing this and say nothing.

BTW it's grandparents, their son and daughter in law and three bratty kids.

ADVISE ANYONE?

That's certainly annoying. Also be aware that if you dogs bite the kids you will be the one who is blamed, even if they were taunting...

If the chain link fence is on the property line then you share it. You CAN leave it there and put the wood fence up on your side. You can also set the wood fence it by about 3' (enough room for you to get a mower thru ) and then their kids can't get on it by way of their chain link fence. Just make sure if you do setback your new fence you do NOT give up that strip of land. Maintain it yourself. Put some nice cacti in there if you want with some gravel and don't worry about mowing it

Now, if they taunt your dogs enough I'd call the police non-emergency number. Let them come out and instruct the sorry butt parents and grandparents that if something happens to one of your dogs it is on record that they have been causing problems and teasing/taunting them.

I'd go ahead and fence in your ENTIRE yard so these kids can't get into any part of it.

There is one fence guy out there that I've seen do good work. His last name is Blackwell, I think. Sunnyvale Fence is another close by one in Garland on I-30 and then there is Southwest. Check on doing a fence made of HardiBoard and Hardiplank. AWESOME fence and doesn't need replacing like a typical wood fence.

Except for climbing the fence, they can still do pretty much everything else even with a very good fence. Sounds like you just need new neighbors, or to move your dogs inside most of the time. Or maybe a dog run in a different part of the yard?

Thanks for the advise, my dogs are inside dogs. So when they are out in their back yard they enjoy it. (unless those kids are out then they get taunted)

I tried Sunnyvale fence, great people. But they don't offer finacing though (good price). And we have looked into the WHOLE property however I have about 3/4 of an acre.......

The fence is on the property line. My home is pre-exsisting so the original owners put up this fence many years ago when there was nothing but a lot next door. This neighbor purchased the lot and built on it in 2002. So is this fence still a shared fence....and heck I want to but the wood fence right along the chain link. Just so they get a ungly chain link then wood fence they have to look at.

I might do it myself one section of fence at a time from Lowes or HD. I am getting so tired of it.

Daily, I pray the neighbors get to old to climb those stairs and want there children and g-children to move out that they sell and leave and I get great neighbors!!! Is that mean to think?

grrrrrrr
I know...and those kids stick their fingers and toys through the fence.
What is mind blogging is that these parents and g-parents she these kids do it everyday all the time and say nothing. We have even yelled at these kids telling them to not do this or that or leave my dogs alone.

I don't have mean dogs. I have Maltese and a Newfi but when they get taunted they tend to bark. Then I am constantly yelling at my dogs about barking while they are out.
