Just a regular customer. I didn't work there.

Is this the one in front of "La calle doce"? We went there when Tipperary was celebrating St. Patrick's and the drinks weren't really good, so we haven't been there again.

Tell Matt (owner) at the Pour House I told him to 'pour' you a strong drink! The regulars and Wildcats tend to get them...

Wildcats? Is that like Cougars? If so, I'm definitely going there!

"Hello, are you Matt? Lakewooder from C-D forum told me you can "pour" a strong drink for me".

Once someone here recommended a little Argentinian restaurant (Don Panza) in Oakcliff, we went there, got lost when coming back and finished in Bishop. Several places looked interesting but we haven't had the opportunity to be there. What's the vibe of that neighbourhood?

It's artsy and elclectic. Many of the restaurants are upscale but they lack the Dallas glitz factor. And that's a good thing. Some might say it has an Austin vibe.

If you're looking for Cougars, try the Rattlesnake Bar at the Ritz-Carlton.

No one's mentioned Lee Harvey's yet? Great little dive, outside tables, solid bar, and really good burgers-n-fries menu. In the Cedars, between Akard and Ervay.

I agree! Lee Harvey's is cool. The hipster crowd combined with the backwoods, redneck setting is worth the visit Lee Harvey's - 214-428-1555. It's the antidote to Uptown establishments. Jack's Backyard is another place that doesn't conform to Dallas stereotypes. It reminds me of Lee Harvey's, however it has a strong Lesbyterian influence (all are welcome): Jack's Backyard, Oak Cliff. My favorite dive bar is still the Grapevine http://www.thegrapevinebar.com/.

Haven't been to the Grapevine in years, great place. I'll have to try Jack's Backyard -- sounds like a good time. There's also the Clif Bar, over at the Belmont on Commerce. It's not a dive, but I love the Belmont's retro remodel, and it's got a great view of downtown.
