I'm looking for a good, authentic Indian Restaurant in Dallas in the area between uptown and the northern suburbs. Will be going for lunch, so i assume it will be buffet style. I've heard mixed reviews about Kalachandji and India Palace. I know there is a place in Addison called Clay Pit.

I've been to Taj Mahal, which is ok (good, but not great) and Kebab and Curry (very disappointing)

Thanks for the tips!

Normally I go for Indian food in Richardson or Plano, there are lots of Indian restaurants there. I can't remember the names of those places though; there was one on Legacy in Plano that was good. I can ask my coworkers what the name of it is if you want.

I've eaten at India Palace and Clay Pit. I liked Clay Pit better. The Indians I know like it.

There's a place on the SW corner of Preston & LBJ that's been around awhile. Can't remember the name of it though.

'Flavors' in Addison is good.
'Chettinad place' in plano is another good one...

Pasand at Coit/Beltline in Richardson is good too. Agree with Roti Grill for counter service/takeout.

Thanks guys. Roti Grill, i think is near the Knox/henderson area? Havent tried it, I think I might, as well as some of the other suggestions.

It seems like a lot of Indian food here is watered down for non-Indian tastes, which i don't like...

I don't mean to sound glib but the best advice I could give would be to ask an Indian friend/coworker/neighbor what restaurants they think are good.
