Haha! Still doesn't even come close to comparing with the shopping on Rodeo Drive or anywhere else in West Hollywood.

Willow Bend Mall is 3/4th dead. That Saks store? Half-stocked. They have creatively used interior walls to fill a good-sized chunk of their alloted space with - nothing. All the cool West Plano folks go up to Stonebriar for regular mall needs, and down to Galleria for high-end shopping.

I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting Plano is in any way, shape, or form a "tourist destination". I will say that the city does a very good job booking the Plano Centre with events most weekends that at least bring locals and regional folks in for the day.

On that topic (and hey, why not inject yet another topic into this rapidly-mutating thread?), the DFW area as a whole is a pretty sorry tourist attraction, considering its status as the 4th or 5th largest metro area in the USA.

I live in Central North-East Dallas (aka Lake Highlands). I don't really get this thread. Snooty people are snooty, no matter where they live. It could be Southlake, Plano, Beverly Hills or any city. Who cares. I think the bumper sticker says it best: "Mean people suck". You will never catch me living in an area with pretentious people and HOAs that restrict what type of vehicle you can park in front of your home. People with that sort of "better then thou" attitude can stick it in their pipe and smoke it.
