Can anyone recommend where to Parking at DFW or near that is inexpensive for 15 nights in late July/Aug. We have never left our car at the airport while on vacation before and don't want to spend too much. We fly out at 2:00 pm but return a 9:30 at night. I guess we will need shuttle service. Or is it best to park at DFW? What might we expect to pay?

Thanks

When I park off site I use Park N Fly. For me it depends on what time my returning flight gets in. Typically if I am returing late I will park in the terminal. It really stinks to have to wait for the shuttle when you are tired.

Park n' Fly on Royal Lane right off of LBJ 6-35. Get online and setup an account and they will email you specials. I got an email for $6 per day for our spring break trip for 10 days. They pick you up on the shuttle bus right at your car luggage and all. Drop you off right at the curbside check-in for your gate. Returning you go to the same area downstairs for Courtesy Van pick-up (gray signs) and a shuttle bus will come by. If you don't see one in a few minutes their phone number is on your ticket stub you received when you dropped off your car. They deliver you right to your car.

Another option that is a bit more expensive but well worth it considering what you have going on is The Airport Valet. Again, get online and setup an account. This one you call and make a reservation and they meet you at the curbside check-in at the airport and take your keys and car. They keep track of your return flight info and will meet you at baggage and then go get your car and bring it to the curb for you. You and your family get your luggage in the car and they hand you over the keys and your on your way home. REALLY EASY and saves about 10-15 minutes off the "ride home" once you arrive at the airport. Late nights this is great. The price varies depending upon length of stay. The longer your car is with them the cheaper the price. They offer other services for you while your car is parked inside a warehouse off of airport property. They have an agreement w/ Park Place Lexus for service that you may need and can get done while your gone w/ no extra inconviences to you. They can have your oil changed and car detailed as well while your away. This is an AWESOME way to "park" for trips. VERY EASY!!!!!

Either one is great and easy to use. Just depends on what you personally want to deal with. Park n Fly has the shuttle bus while the Valet you leave your car at the curb and pick it up when you return.

Something to consider - when we're taking an early morning flight out of DFW, we usually book a nearby motel room for a night, and park our car in their lot for the duration. Now it's not as secure, but if you have good insurance and are willing to take a small chance, it's well worth it. I know one was a Holiday Inn (near south entrance), and I can't think of the other one closer to the north entrance. They didn't charge us a penny and even kinda kept an eye on it for us. And free shuttle service back and forth to the airport is included with the room rental. Something to consider but you need to call around to find the ones that will do this. The longest we ever left ours was for 10 days when we went to Hawaii a few years ago.

I used park n fly if that is the yellow ones with the black spots...Or is that called something else. I am considering using door to door service in July but I HATE how they have to pick you up so early due to numerous pick ups. My flight is at 6:45 a.m. so I am wondering if they gonna pick me up at 2 a.m.

DFW has remote parking on the North and South ends of the airport that is under $10 a day. (I think it is actually closer to $5 a day.) It's not covered, but the lots are secure. There is a shuttle that picks you up at the terminals and drops you at the lot, and then you have to walk to your car.

why can't you find a friend to take and pick you up so you can leave your car at home?

I think it's $7 now. It's the cheapest option, but sometimes you get to the airport and the lots are full. For a trip that long, I'd get a ride or take a shuttle.

I'd hate to get back to the lot and it be gone and it has been towed. YIKES!!! I wouldn't do this one at all, ever. I'm just not that willing to trust unknown people like that. Besides, hotel/motel parking lots are the prime spot for cars to be broken into.

That is The Parking Spot. Never used them but I see their shuttle buses.

I have never used the Super Shuttle because of the HUGE window between when they "must" pick you up and when your flight is. They can have others they have to pick up as well anywhere in the area. I'd rather just pay a private driver (and this is also available) to come pick me up at home and take me straight to the airport if I want to leave my car at home.

You know what............. I can not stand a lot of people that do this. Why? Because my sis and her husband do this because they "don't want to pay to park". He even makes her take him and pick him up because he doesn't want to pay for the parking at the airport. Yet it costs more in gas to drive round trip from McKinney to the airport TWICE and he sometimes comes in late and my sis really has no business driving that far by herself at night (medical condition). There are a lot of people that think it no big deal to ask someone to take them and pick them up w/ ungodly times that their flights are and say they don't want to pay for the parking. Yet they don't even offer up gas money OR the toll that you have to pay to enter/exit airport property. The cars parked out at the airport at RELIABLE lots (not a motel parking lot) are just as safe there as they are at your home while your away. I've never had a problem at all in all of my years parking out there. Oh, and considering the OP's return flight home is SUPPOSED to land at 9:30. It very well could be a lot later than that and I really don't like others to have to come out that late to the airport for me when I easily could have just parked my car there. jmho.
