I moved from Lansing to Dallas about 10 years ago. That year we came here we arrived right around the 4th of July and for pretty much that whole 1st month every day I thought I was actually going to die from the heat. Today I think the temp was about 95 and I don't think I even broke a sweat. Sounds like you'll be OK with the heat.

The suburbs to the north of Dallas definitely exhibit severe melanin deficiency. When you do find a school with some color, it tends to be more yellow and brown. (I'm on the yellowish side myself - no offense intended here).

If diversity is critical, I would suggest the Carrollton-Farmers Branch school district or parts of the Richardson school district. Both good, well funded systems.

But is diversity that critical? Your kids will not encounter racial issues in any of the Dallas suburban school districts. People care more about their character than skin color.

Default Still in MI

I cannot believe I m still n MI. Finally got some work in Dearborn but have moved to apt in Novi. Still wanting to get away from cold weather really bad. Couldn't seem to find any work anywhere out of state. Everyone keeps telling me to come and then I will find job. I m too scared to do that need to have income secured b4 i get there. I think I have settled on TX because of schools, and economy. FL lhas the weather but think i will end up going there when I retire or last child has graduated high school.
