Thanks FarNorthDallas, I'll be in the area in a couple of weeks and didn't want to have to eat out every night.

Urban Market is in downtown. It's a small grocery store, but it has pretty much everything.

I did not think that Chili's would last even this long. We are sth's for the Stars and after games that place is DEAD! It had the best service though of any Chili's around. One waiter when I asked did tell me that before the games they were busy. Lunch time was a bit better but other than that it was SLOW! This was from a waiter back in April/March after a hockey game. All of that remodeling to get rid of a fan shop to have that Chili's in there. Not a smart move at all. No wonder Brinker is/was in trouble.

$2.8M to build this Chili's and then about $20k/month to lease the place. Then salaries, utilities, food etc.
How many meals do they have to sell to EVER be profitable ?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!

well, it didn't work out but what were they thinking before building this restaurant? I'd really LOVE to see the business plan.

I know if I'm on Nob Hill or in Carroll Gardens, I can walk up the block to a corner place with fluorescent tubes on the ceiling and buy cold cuts and popcorn and a sparkling cider. I don't need to be greeted at the door.

And what kind of name for a neighborhood is Victory anyway?

Casting an opinion on a planned-neighborhood product with your pocketbooks isn't necessarily objectionable.

Perot was an owner of the Mavericks when they built AAC, which is the anchor of the development. Victory is in relation to the sports, not the assumed success of the development (I'm sure they were planning on it being a huge success and had some nice taglines in place when it all came to fruition)

Also, the last post in this thread was more than 5 years ago... why the "out of the blue" negative post?
