My wife and I have been in the Dallas area since Thursday, and we are enjoying our vacation here very much. Tonight we are going out for a nice steak dinner at Morton's - my wife has always wanted to go there.

Morton's is a national chain. If you can still get a reservation, I'd recommend Bob's Steak and Chop House. I think they have a little better cut than Morton's, and you get a unique Dallas experience. They have expanded outside of Dallas but it's still a small chain and still based in Big D.

They _had_ expanded outside of Dallas but ol Bob overextended himself and had to file for bankruptcy protection after being indicted on felony theft charges related to $300,000 he owes an investor. The Denver location is no more. No word on whether Tucson or San Francisco will be affected by the filing.

Wow! Did not know that but it's still tops my list for Dallas steak houses.

I made a blog posting about some of our trip here (http://www.jamesnrhodes.com/James_Rhodes/Blog/Entries/2009/6/7_Our_Texas_Vacation.html - broken link).

Overall, we both really like the Dallas area.

Ajisen's teriyaki beef is so tender and delicious - it was not very sweet like some Japanese restaurants. Also, the sushi was very fresh. The shrimp/vegetables tempura was excellent - light batter and tasty dipping sauce. One word to sum them up... Yummy! :-)
