I am planning to move to the McKinney area and commute into west Plano. Does anyone have advice about the commute times during rush-hour?

I will be living off of 380 on the far west side of McKinney and most likely taking 380 to the Dallas Tollway, or possibly taking 121 to the Tollway.

I am used to driving from Cedar Hill to Plano, so I'm hoping that this move will make my commute a little shorter.

Thanks for any feedback.

Oh, it will be a MUCH faster commute. I would just take 380 to the Dallas North Tollway and go down. You will not have to deal with much traffic at all. Depending on where in West Plano, it could take 20-25 minutes.

After just making that commute for the better part of six-months, I can tell you it's all about timing. If you're leaving around 6:45am-7am and are taking the tollway to W. Plano, around 15-20 minutes. If you're leaving after 7:30am, forget it, 30-40 minutes at best.

If you tell me exactly where in W. McKinney your talking about I can give you a better time frame.
