I am looking to figure out what the tax rate is. I found a website that has combined taxes, which appears to be city, school county. Am I getting them all, or is there another part of a percent somewhere (e.g., state property tax) Here is what it says for a couple of the places recommended: Colleyville: 2.28% Carrollton: 2.56% Grapevine: 2.27% Keller: 2.48% Assume this is per 100,000 of value of house? Not counting things such as personal property tax on car - most states charge that. Thanks for everyone's help.

Most locations around here have a small levy for the local community colleges.

Go straight to the source. You can look up all of the tax rates for every single taxing entity on the counties tax office website. The one for Dallas County is Dallas Central Appraisal District

If your looking for Denton, Tarrant or Collin County you can use the link on the DALLASCAD website to go straight to them.

If you find a house online your interested in you can go to the county website and see how much they have been paying yearly in taxes.

each house's location might make it responsible for a variety of taxing entities--
most people pay a county hospital assessment, some people pay a special tax to recoup what the city gave to the developer in special rebates--the downtown condos in FTW are like that--those buyers pay back in THEIR taxes an extra amount to offset what the city did not tax the developer--
don't you love it...
but yes--TAD give all the taxing entities that any property's valuation is tied to
